The Global Semiconductor Alliance (GSA) established the GSA Talent Initiative (GTI) to attract, develop, and retain the skilled workforce necessary for the semiconductor industry's growth. With the industry projected to reach $1.3 trillion by 2030, expanding the talent pipeline and strengthening leadership is essential.
Semiconductors power the modern world, driving innovation across industries. As a highly complex and interconnected field, it demands top-tier talent—individuals who excel in solving the industry’s most challenging problems. However, entering the semiconductor workforce requires mastery of difficult technical disciplines and a highly competitive recruitment process. To sustain the industry’s growth, we must broaden the talent pool and create structured pathways for high-performing candidates.
Recognizing the need for more inclusive leadership development, GSA launched the Women’s Leadership Initiative (WLI) to expand the pipeline of high-potential candidates while ensuring that more women are prepared for leadership roles. Currently, women represent only 17% of the technical roles in the semiconductor industry, making this a critical opportunity for both recruitment and advancement. Research consistently shows that inclusive leadership teams drive stronger business performance, reinforcing the importance of these efforts.
The WLI is one of the strategic programs under the GSA Talent Initiative (GTI), which is designed to:
