Just over one year ago, GSA launched its Women’s Leadership Initiative seeking to significantly increase the number of women entering the semiconductor market, as well as elevating their participation on both boards and leadership positions – and what a year it has been!
With the help of our council and committee members, we have achieved a host of accomplishments. We worked with Accenture to write and conduct a global survey, GSA: Women in the Semiconductor Industry, which aided in determining benchmark metrics. We created a Women’s Directory, a Venture Capital (VC) Directory and began collecting names of women who are available to speak at events.
We also developed and launched an Internship/New Hire portal that is sure to become the premier resource for finding opportunities with semiconductor companies and began an Entrepreneur Blog to spotlight women achieving success with their own companies!

|
To amplify the image of the industry, we initiated a social media campaign showcasing women who are new to the industry and those who are role models. We share these on Linkedin | Women’s Leadership Initiative, Facebook | Be Inspired and Instagram | @designingthedifference. We would love for you to join us by submitting your photo and caption for the campaign.
Our second year will be bigger and better as we prepare:
— a full-fledged semiconductor image campaign
— a west coast Women’s Technology Conference
— our annual Women in the Semiconductor Industry survey
— our university programs with UCLA and MIT
— a best practices playbook and CEO pledge
— a repository of information for female entrepreneurs
— & much more!
