The latest news & updates from GSA’s Women’s Leadership Initiative
Thank you for your overwhelming support of our Women’s Leadership Initiative (WLI) and newsletter. Amidst the backdrop of a global pandemic, we’re continuing to grow and work towards making gender parity a reality in our industry, which we’d be remiss in discussing without addressing diversity, equity and inclusion, as they go hand-in-hand. There’s exceptional contributed content in this edition that encourages inner reflection and open discussion.
We hope you’ll join us in these important and continuing conversations whether on one of our committees or on future webinars. Additionally, we’re pleased to share that we now have a newsletter sponsor, Applied Materials! They’ve contributed an article to this edition about their Generation Girl™ initiative that helps girls and young women of color break down barriers, ultimately inspiring future engineers. Please feel free to share this newsletter and encourage your colleagues to get involved in the WLI. We have a subscription button to make sure you don’t miss a future edition of Designing the Difference.

Just this week, the GSA: Women in the Semiconductor Industry survey results were released. Regarding career advancement, about half of respondents reported 20% or more women representation in their total workforce, but less than 10% in director positions and above. To view more key findings, watch for the upcoming white paper in 2021.
