The GSA WLI Lunch and Learn series aims to bring together women from different companies in the industry to connect, network, and learn from others’ stories of success.
This is an opportunity to inspire, motivate and develop women, and provide them with the visibility they deserve. This event, designed to support the career growth and professional aspirations of the women in our industry, will take place on April 30th, in Belgium.
Our aim for the Lunch and Learn series has been to offer a blend of executive and technical topics, featuring women who are leaders in their respective fields delivering keynote presentations and participating in panel discussions.
The overarching theme of our Lunch and Learns is “Pathways to Success”. This event will provide an excellent opportunity for women from different companies to connect and network, which we believe is essential for visibility and professional growth.

Katrien holds an engineering degree in Microelectronics. She joined Imec in 1992 as an Analog Design Engineer and specialized in design of low-noise readout electronics for high-energy physics. In 1999, she became press responsible and scientific editor at Imec’s business development division and was responsible for authoring and editing the research organization’s numerous company technical documents and publications. In 2001, she was appointed Corporate Communications Director at Imec. Her responsibilities expanded in August 2007, when she got the position of External Communications Director including corporate, marketing and outreach communications. In October 2016, she became VP Corporate, Marketing and Outreach Communication. Since April 2020, she has served as the Executive Vice President & Chief Marketing and Communications Officer and member of the executive board of Imec. She is also a member of the board of directors of RVO Society, an organization to inspire young people, teachers and citizens with educational and leisure activities regarding engineering, technology and science.

Johanna Bolander

Johanna Bolander, PhD is a scientist driven by a simple but critical question: how can we help the body heal itself better after injury or disease? Her work in regenerative medicine brings together biology, engineering, and clinical insight to better understand how tissues repair, and why that process sometimes goes wrong.
In close collaboration with clinicians, Johanna and her team have helped reveal the synovial membrane as a central regulator of joint health, reshaping how we think about degenerative disease such as osteoarthritis, and tissue recovery after trauma. By uncovering how immune responses shift from repair to chronic damage, her research has opened new paths toward restoring balance in healing tissues. These insights laid the foundation for an immunomodulatory cell therapy now moving through FDA review, an example of how curiosity-driven research can grow into real therapeutic possibilities.
A defining feature of Johanna researc is her belief that the most meaningful advances happen at the boundaries between disciplines. Her work spans stem cell biology, tissue engineering, bioprinting, computational modeling, and nanoelectronics, and is built on deep international collaboration. By working alongside physicists and engineers, she develops human-relevant in vitro models that make complex biology visible, measurable, and ultimately actionable, tools that not only advance discovery, but also improve how we teach, share, and evaluate science.
With multiple patents and therapies in the pipeline, Johanna’s work reflects a commitment to translation, but her leadership is more deeply rooted: building systems that enable others to ask better questions, work across boundaries, and turn knowledge into healing. Her research path stands to the power of interdisciplinary thinking, collaboration, and persistence in shaping the future of regenerative medicine.

Claudia Fleischmann is a recognized scientist in the field of materials characterization with a background in physics and materials science. She joined imec in 2013, where she leads a diverse team of researchers and students. Fostering scientific leadership, collaboration, and a learning culture, she empowers her team to drive pathfinding efforts that translate academic breakthroughs into industrial solutions supporting materials innovation and device scaling in the semiconductor industry. As an associated Professor at the KU Leuven, Claudia builds bridges between academia and industry through joint research programs, training and teaching activities, or co-leadership in working groups that promote science and education. She is co-founder and -organizer of imec’s first Students’ Excellence Day, an initiative to educate university students from various disciplines about the research and career opportunities in the semiconductor industry. Alongside her leadership and educational role, Claudia is committed to mentoring and coaching students throughout their academic track and actively contributes to the scientific community through the organization of scientific events, as the vice-president of the IFES society, as invited speaker or panelist.

Lin Hou

Lin Hou received her PhD in Materials Engineering from KU Leuven and imec, where she conducted research under the supervision of Ingrid De Wolf and Eric Beyne. Her doctoral research was carried out within imec’s advanced semiconductor research ecosystem and focused on advanced 3D integration and packaging technologies. At the time, this field was still emerging, and her work contributed to early research efforts exploring new approaches for high-density integration—technologies that are now seeing large-scale adoption across the semiconductor industry.
Following her graduation, she joined SanDisk as a Staff Engineer and began her industry career working on collaborative research programs between imec and SanDisk. Her work continued to build on advanced integration and packaging technologies, contributing to joint development programs aimed at enabling next-generation memory architectures.
She is currently a Principal Engineer at SanDisk, where she leads and contributes to research and development in advanced and emerging memory technologies. Her work spans advanced integration, and technology development for next-generation memory solutions.
In addition to her technical contributions, she has served as both project manager and technical lead for several cross-functional R&D programs involving device integration, fabrication, and coordination. Throughout her career, she has played key roles in multiple strategic technology initiatives and has led multidisciplinary teams across engineering and manufacturing functions to deliver core research and technology programs.
An active contributor to innovation in the semiconductor industry, she has authored 30+ patent filings and continues to drive technology development in emerging memory and advanced semiconductor integration.

Olivera Stojanovic is a Chief Technology Officer at Vtool and Product Owner of Cogita-PRO, an AI-powered debugging and verification assistance platform purpose-built to address the complex, real-world challenges of modern semiconductor verification.
With more than two decades of semiconductor industry experience, Olivera brings deep technical expertise across ASIC and FPGA verification, project management, and building high-performing verification teams. As CTO, she drives the strategic adoption of AI and emerging technologies in collaboration with leading semiconductor companies, translating their most critical verification challenges into intelligent, scalable solutions.
In her role as Product Owner of Cogita-PRO, Olivera defines the product vision and steers the development roadmap ensuring the platform evolves in direct alignment with the needs of verification professionals. Her extensive hands-on verification background gives her a rare and valuable perspective on where AI delivers the greatest practical impact: from accelerating root cause analysis to significantly reducing the complexity and duration of debug cycles.
Olivera holds an MSc in Electrical Engineering from the School of Electrical Engineering, University of Belgrade, and an Executive MBA from Cotrugli Business School. Throughout her career, Olivera has actively collaborated with academic institutions in Serbia, to promote ASIC development and education. She is a co-author of verification textbook published by the Faculty of Electronic Engineering at the University of Niš. She is also a member of the GSA EMEA Women’s Leadership Council, where she contributes to advancing women in the global semiconductor industry.
